On the territory of New Chersonese in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, where the occupiers are currently building a number of "cultural facilities," a church with an opening dome and the possibility of holding night church services in the open air will be built.

This was reported by Putin's confessor, Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov) of Pskov and Porkhov, according to Russian media.

“There will be a huge Museum of Christianity here. It is still under construction. This will be both a park and a temple, where a dome will be opened for the possibility of holding night services in the open air. Can you imagine what it's like in the open air?" Tichon says.

Shevkunov has stated that the forthcoming church in Sevastopol will have a dome with the same diameter as the one at Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. The bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church has also announced the establishment of museums in Chersonesos, including the "Russia is my History" Museum, the "History of Crimea and Novorossiya" Museum, and the "Antiquity and Byzantium" Museum.

“We are bringing out the current museum, which has 200 thousand artifacts, which is now huddled in small monastery premises. There will be an International Center for archaeology,” Tikhon said.

He noted that during the work on the territory of New Chersonesos, an amazing archaeological event occurred: 'Never and nowhere in the history of Russia and the world have excavations of this scale been carried out simultaneously on the same territory. More than 3 million artifacts were found'," he said.

The project is funded by the Russian corporations Gazpromneft and Transneft.
