On the day of Donald Trump's inauguration, the leader of the Young Republicans (wing of the US Republican Party), Catherine Whiteford, called for an end to the persecution of the Moscow Church in Ukraine, the UOC-MP.

This information was spread by all the social media communities of the Moscow Church in Ukraine, in particular, the Cherkasy Diocese of the UOC-MP, Glavkom reports.

In her video message, Catherine Whiteford emphasized that many people associate the inauguration of the new US President with hopes for rapid changes and actions on the part of the administration.

“To those oppressing Christians, especially those who are persecuting the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the UOC, I would like to deliver this message: Retribution is coming. If you stop the persecution and repent now, you may spare yourself from the coming justice, but time is short,” said Catherine Whiteford.

At the end of her message, she addressed the Ukrainians: “Orthodox Ukrainians, faithful of the UOC, do not be afraid! The Lord is with you, your hour will come soon! Thank you, and may the Lord bless America.”

The Moscow Patriarchate is pursuing an aggressive church policy abroad, particularly in the United States. It is known that the London-based law firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP has launched an active lobbying campaign in the West for the money of the sanctioned oligarch, former MP from the banned OPZZh party (The Opposition Platform – For Life) Vadym Novynskyi. In particular, the firm signed an agreement on lobbying the interests of the UOC-MP with American lobbyist William Whitney Burke-White.

The American politician did not mention the fact that hundreds of churches in Ukraine have been destroyed or damaged as a result of Russian shelling.

Catherine Whiteford is the daughter of a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church in the United States.
