On August 18, St Mary Pilgrimage Center in the village of Knock, Ireland, hosted a day of prayer for peace in Ukraine.

Ireland has received about 50,000 Ukrainians as of today and continues to provide protection.

On August 18, St Mary Pilgrimage Center was filled to capacity with people (including many Ukrainians) who came from different parts of Ireland to pray for peace in Ukraine.

Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski, the Apostolic Visitator for Ukrainians in Ireland, participated in the joint prayer with the Irish clergy. Vasyl Kornytsky, pastor for Ukrainians in Ireland, and Fr. Andriy Malysh, Chancellor of the Eparchy in London.

During the Liturgy, at the invitation of the rector of St Mary Pilgrimage Center, Halyna Teslyuk, associate professor of the Department of Biblical Studies at the Ukrainian Catholic University, spoke to the audience.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Ireland Larysa Gerasko also attended the Day of Prayer.

After the prayer, Lord Kenneth, Fr. Vasyl and Fr. Andriy met with the Ukrainian community, where they had the opportunity to talk about their problems and needs.
