Jubilee Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church begins today
The Jubilee Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will begin Friday at the Holy Dormition of the Kyiv Cave Monastery, headed by Metropolitan Volodymyr.
According to the UOC website, 237 people will participate in the council, including all hierarchs of the UOC, chairs of the synodal institutions and rectors of the spiritual academies and seminaries, representatives of the Kyivan Metropolitanate, and men and women of the Stauropegion monasteries, as well as three delegates from each UOC eparchy.
The event will be covered by 37 accredited journalists, and the council will have a press center.
Before the Jubilee Council, the Hierarchical Council will meet to discuss and adopt changes to the code for the administration of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
After the Hierarchical Council, registration will begin for the participants of the UOC Council.
Primate of the UOC Metropolitan Volodymyr will speak to the participants, and then discussion of issues on the agenda will begin.
The council will conclude with the adoption of the Resolution of the Jubilee Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
