Law enforcement and civil society to ensure the safe vacation of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
This statement was given by Mykyta Poturaiev, who is an MP and also the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy. The press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine's administration reported this.
"We have written a letter to the head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk. I am confident that the competent authorities will ensure nothing is lost from the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. In my opinion, Russia will attempt to provoke and hinder the liberation of the Lavra until March 29. Nevertheless, based on what I know, our law enforcement officials are prepared for this," the politician stated.
According to the MP, "We also need to prepare for the fact that a patriotic public, in particular war veterans, will come to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra to support its liberation from representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate."
He stressed that "our civil society is responsible, and law enforcement agencies are competent and professional, so we will be able to avoid any possible provocations."
