Members of Parliament gathered 226 votes to ban the Moscow Patriarchate

"There are 226 signatures in support of bills to ban Moscow priests! We demand that the speaker immediately put them on the agenda. There are no more arguments for the Servant of the People not to do this!" Herashchenko wrote.

Previously, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, stated that the parliament currently does not have the necessary 226 votes to ban the activities of the UOC-MP if the relevant bill is brought to a vote.

Stefanchuk clarified that he wants to believe that he will see 226 votes. However, according to him, there is an ongoing internal discussion, which takes place not only within the "Servant of the People" party but also within other parties that "position themselves as very patriotic."

Recall that on Independence Day, August 24th, more than 125 signatures of MPs were collected in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine under an appeal to Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk. Parliamentarians demand the urgent consideration of bills that would help to ban the activities of the Moscow Patriarchate.
