On June 1, 2024, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America, and Canada Tikhon arrived in Ukraine for a fraternal visit, leading a delegation from the Orthodox Church in America (OCA).

According to the official website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), the Primate of the OCA came to Ukraine "to venerate the holy sites of the Ukrainian land and to prayerfully support His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphriy, the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and the entire Ukrainian people."

The American delegation includes Chancellor of the Metropolitan, Protopresbyter Alexander Rentel, a staff member of the OCA Department of External Church Relations, Protopresbyter Nazari Polataiko, and Protodeacon Vitaly Permyakov.

Metropolitan Tikhon's visit began in Chernivtsi. On June 1, the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, along with Metropolitan Onuphrius, led a solemn vigil service at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in the city. They were joined by members of the Holy Synod and other hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, clergy of the Chernivtsi-Bukovina Diocese, and guests.

On June 2, Metropolitan Tikhon and Metropolitan Onuphriy will celebrate a solemn Divine Liturgy at the Ascension Monastery in Bancheny.

The visit program of the OCA Primate also includes visits to the Assumption Pochaiv Lavra, the Holy Spirit Skete of the Lavra, and monasteries of the Eparchy of Chernivtsi-Bukovyna.
