Pastor Burns: In the US, false iformation regarding the suppression of religious freedoms and the presence of “neo-Nazis” and “racists” in Ukraine still circulates
This was mentioned in an interview with Ukrinform by American pastor Mark Burns, who is considered President Donald Trump's spiritual advisor.
"It was easy to believe the propaganda spread in the United States about Ukraine. Claims circulated that Ukrainians are “racists,” “neo-Nazis,” that they “have no religious freedom,” that they “don't love Jesus,” that they “don't honor God,” and that they “don't give people the opportunity to have their own freedom,” Burns said.
He pointed out that such statements are still being made today by influential right-wing media groups in America.
The pastor acknowledged that he used to believe that America should not finance wars abroad and should only spend money within the United States. This stance was supported by many MAGA Republicans.
However, he stated that after a recent visit to Ukraine — where he communicated with religious leaders and witnessed the devastation caused by Russian aggression — he completely changed his perspective and now advocates for increased support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
