Patriarch Emeritus Filaret calls Ukrainian courts unfair
Patriarch Emeritus Filaret of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine believes that Ukrainian courts are unfair. For that reason, many church problems arise.
He said this in an interview to the Espresso television channel, commenting on the decision of the District Administrative Court to suspend renaming of the UOC-Moscow Patriarchate to the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine. This is reported by Gazeta ua.
“Our courts are unfair, they need reform, we have many problems caused by their unfairness, including in relation to the Church. If the court wants us to have two Orthodox churches, then whom it serves: the Ukrainian state or the Russian one? "The Ukrainian court must serve the interests of the Ukrainian state, the Ukrainian people and pass just decisions,” said Filaret.
