Patriarch Kirill suspended the work of Alexandria Metochion in Moscow because of the OCU recognition
Russian Patriarch Kirill suspended the work of the Alexandria Metochion in Moscow. This was reported by "Interfax" on Monday, the Secretary of the Department for external Church relations for inter-Orthodox relations Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk.
According to him, the Synod, which will meet in Moscow at the end of December, will probably make the final decision on the prospects for the operation of the Church of Alexandria.
As reported, in early November, Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria, "second in honor" after Constantinople among the primates of the local Orthodox Churches, recognized the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU).
Immediately after that, the Moscow Patriarchate announced the impossibility of further commemoration of the name of Patriarch Theodore, which in the language of Church diplomacy means the actual rupture of communication.
