President invites Patriarch Theophilus III to come with pastoral visit to Ukraine

On the initiative of Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and His Beatitude Theophilus III had a phone conversation.

The Head of State wished Patriarch Theophilus health and success in his patriarchal mission. This is reported by the official site of the Head of State.

The Patriarch of Jerusalem assured that he will pray for the peace and prosperity of Ukraine as well as for the unification of the Ukrainian Orthodox.

The exceptional historical significance of the creation of a canonical local Orthodox Church in Ukraine, which meets the ages-long aspirations of the Ukrainian people, was noted.

Petro Poroshenko invited Patriarch Theophilus III to carry out a pastoral visit to Ukraine for a joint prayer for peace in our country and in Europe, as well as to establish dialogue with the local Church of Ukraine.
