President Yanukovych Asked to Explain Pastor Adelaja’s Award

Mykola Tomenko, deputy head of the Supreme Council of Ukraine, forwarded an address to Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych with a request to explain the situation regarding the president awarding religious figures.
KYIV – Mykola Tomenko, deputy head of the Supreme Council of Ukraine, forwarded an address to Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych with a request to explain the situation regarding the president awarding religious figures, including foreign citizens, for participation in the election campaign, reports UNIAN.
Tomenko stressed that according to a published video recording, the awardees included the head of the religious organization Embassy of God, Sunday Adelaja, who is a Nigerian citizen.
The vice-speaker noted that Article 64 of the Law of Ukraine On the election of Ukraine’s President prohibits participation of persons who are not Ukrainian citizens in election campaigns.
