"Quoting the living classic of the MP in Ukraine, it's a zilch" - OCU on pickets against Bartholomew
The spokesman of the OCU, Archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya), called these actions "an anti-church carnival".
He wrote about it on his Facebook page.
"Komsomol anti-church carnival.
This is the only way to describe yesterday's and today's round dances, which were conducted in Kyiv and near it by Lay People of Father Vadimiy", the hierarch of the OCU noted.
"And it turned out, quoting the living classic of the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine, to be a complete zilch," he added.
On the day of Patriarch Bartholomew's arrival," pious " supporters of the Moscow Patriarchate tried to meet the first hierarch is on the road to express their outrage with the Tomos. Then they gathered under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada for this purpose. In their hands, they held placards with inscriptions, the meaning of which they sometimes did not understand.
It should be noted that according to the survey held by KIIS the majority of Ukrainians, 57.3%, perceive the visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch positively, 32.5% –neutrally and only 6.4% – negatively.
By the way, 49.0% of supporters of the UOC-MP also have a positive attitude to Bartholomew's visit, 35.1% are neutral, and 14.6% are negative.
A few months before the Tomos was granted, the archpriest of the UOC-MP Mykolai Danylevych made a "prophecy" that Orthodox Ukrainians will not be able to unite and the case with autocephaly will prove to be a "zilch".
