The aim of the project is to preserve and recover the unique collection of works of tempera painting of the 16th-19th centuries that belong to the world heritage of sacred art.

Also the project includes a full color promotional album on the history and development of Galician iconography.

The project Conservation and Display of the Studion Icon Collection started on September 15, 2008, and lasted until October 1, 2010. Thanks to the support of the United States ambassador, 38 icons and 2 wooden masterpieces were restored.
