The "persecution of Orthodoxy" in Ukraine may continue if Russia restricts its efforts to liberating only four regions.

The head of the Synodal Department of the Russian Orthodox Church for Interaction with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, Metropolitan Kirill (Pokrovsky) of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk, stated this in an interview with the Spas TV channel, according to reports from Russian media.

"Undoubtedly, we will reunite. I am certain of this. When it will happen is another question. How far will these Western Satanists retreat in Ukraine? If, apart from Donbas, Zaporizhia, and Kherson, the government of Zelensky or Poroshenko remains in control of any territory, the persecution of the Church will likely continue," said Metropolitan Kirill.

He suggested that the Russian army could potentially "liberate" both Odesa and Kyiv.

"The question is where we will stop in Ukraine and what decisions will be included in the peace agreement. To what extent will Ukraine be able to violate this peace agreement, as it did with the Minsk agreements? And how much can Europe violate these agreements? We may advance to Kyiv after taking Odessa and Mykolaiv, leaving the British with nothing left in Ukraine. Then, of course, it will be over," the metropolitan stated.

It should be noted that last year, the Office of the Prosecutor General and the Security Service of Ukraine announced that Metropolitan Kirill Pokrovsky of the Russian Orthodox Church was under suspicion.

The investigation revealed that he colluded with the head of the Russian Orthodox Church and other hierarchs, promoting the subordination of Ukrainian churches to the Moscow Patriarchate. He also organized efforts to influence believers in the temporarily occupied territories, spreading messages about "unity with Russia" and supporting aggression against Ukraine.
