Russia actively engages in religious destabilization of Montenegro, - expert opinion
The provocation by the Serbian Orthodox Church, which constituted a gross violation of the quarantine regime in Montenegro, was planned and reminiscent of the similar actions of the UOC-MP in Ukraine, said expert Oleksandr Kovalenko in a column on the website "Spiritual Front of Ukraine".
According to him, against the background of the unrest in Montenegro, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Patriarch Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Church promptly arranged a telephone conversation and released a joint statement following the conversation, which focuses on the "hostile" attitude of Montenegro to the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Simultaneously with this "joint statement", Vucic called Russian President Vladimir Putin and thanked him for the "humanitarian" assistance provided, although the purpose of the call was to complain about the "persecution" of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro.
Sergey Gavrilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee for the Development of Civil Society, Public and Religious Associations, and President of the General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy (map), has already said that the "persecution" brings into a question the security of Russians in Montenegro.
It was Gavrilov who supervised the propagandist campaign of sending humanitarian aid to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which never took place. This is reported by Channel 5.
