Svoboda Reps Protest Against Patriarch Kirill's Visit Near Ukrainian House
Today, about 80 adherents of the All-Ukrainian Association Svoboda and the public organization Ukrainian National Assembly-Ukrainian People's Self Defense (UNA-UNSO) are holding a protest near the Ukrainian House in Kyiv against the visit of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow to Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian News, the protesters hold flags with symbols of their organizations and banners reading "Kirill is patriarch of Stalin-KGB canon," and so on.
Periodically, they chant "Glory to Ukraine, glory to heroes!" and "Away with the Moscow priest!"
About twenty of the protesters have unfolded a giant flag of Ukraine near the Ukrainian House.
As RISU reported earlier, on July 26, the police detained a group of Svoboda representatives who attempted to hold a protest against the visit of Patriarch Kirill at Volodymyrska Street in Kyiv. Later, however, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv recognized the action legal and not prohibited by court.
