Svyatogorsk Lavra representative assures they are not harboring militants
The information that appeared in a number of media that Svyatogorsk Lavra is hiding militants is not true, said Archbishop Arseniy, the superior of Svyatogorsk Lavra at his meeting with journalists, according to the reporter of Ukrinform.
“In one of the stories of TSN at 1 +1 TV channel there was information that in the monastery opened a hospital for militants and a helipad, and the snipers allegedly entrenched on the bell towers, and in the basement we keep Yanukovych’s property. Incidentally, the former president has never visited us. On the whole it is the sweeping generalization and false information”, said the Archbishop.
He says the monastery monks pray daily for peace in Ukraine.
“For all the 120 monks in the monastery there are two main commandments: love God and love your neighbor. During the last six months hatred settled in the hearts of many people, they have forgotten that man is born to find friends, not enemies. We hope to instruct the misguided through the prayer”, said the monastery superior.
Archbishop Arseniy also added that the monastery doors were open only for the refugee from the area of ATO, who are now 470 in the monastery.
