On May 12, 2022, three new bishops were elected at a meeting of the Holy Synod of the UOC-MP.

This is reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC-MP.

The Synod elected vicar bishops for the dioceses of Chernivtsi-Bukovyna, Kherson and Shepetivka of the UOC-MP.

Archimandrite Cleopas (Migaesi) was elected bishop of Novoselytsy, Vicar of the Diocese of Chernivtsi-Bukovyna.

Archimandrite Veniamin (Velychko) was elected bishop of Skadovsk, Vicar of the Diocese of Kherson.

Archimandrite Feodosiy (Mintenko) was elected bishop of Horodyshchensk, Vicar of the Diocese of Shepetivka.

The time and place of episcopal consecrations will be determined by the Primate of the UOC-MP Onufriy.

In addition, according to the submitted request and on the basis of the relevant church canons, archpriest Petro Patrev, a cleric of the Diocese of Bila Tserkva who was banned from the priesthood, was stripped of his priestly rank.
