A tent of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow the Patriarchate burned down in Chernihiv on the night of Saturday, January 1.

A tent of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) burned down in Chernihiv on the night of Saturday, January 1.

The fire broke out at 12:12 a.m., Interfax-Ukraine learned from the main department of the Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry in Chernihiv region. No casualties have been reported.

The Emergencies Ministry said that the tent was set up near the Church of Saint Catherine, which belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyivan Patriarchate (UOC-KP).

A laboratory is working to establish the cause of the fire, the press service said, adding that it is too early to say whether it was arson or a fire due to negligence.
