The Amman Meeting not to have the status of Synaxis and its participants not to concelebrate, - Patriarch Theophilos III
The meeting in Amman will not be an official Synaxis of the Primates or the pan-Orthodox conference, but an informal "fraternal meeting" dedicated to the methodology of dialogue for solving topical problems of world Orthodoxy. This is stated in the second message of the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III to all the primates of the local Churches, published on the website "Etnos.gr", according to "Credo.Ru".
Patriarch Theophilos once again calls on the Primates to attend the meeting in Amman, which is scheduled for February 25-27, although most of them refused it in one form or another.
The Patriarch of Jerusalem has noted that the meeting is not official and does not provide for the joint celebration of a Liturgy.
Patriarch Theophilos has briefed that the meeting is supposed to "consider the methodology that will be used to achieve the common goal of dialogue and reconciliation in order to preserve unity in the Orthodox community."
The Patriarch of Antioch has recently refused to go to the meeting in Amman. On February 21, representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church announced their non-participation. In addition to Patriarch Kirill, the Serbian Primate will take part in the meeting. The Romanian and Polish Churches will send a delegation of bishops to Amman.
