This is part of the 738 such positions in the Armed Forces.

According to LB.ua, during a round table at the Military Media Center, Colonel Oleksiy Tereshchuk, head of the military chaplaincy service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced that the Armed Forces have already appointed 78 full-time military chaplains.

At present, 244 clergymen have been given mandates to carry out this activity, and the remaining 494 priests and pastors are still needed to fill the positions.

Colonel Oleksiy Tereshchuk also mentioned that having a mandate does not automatically make a priest or pastor a military chaplain. He explained that there is a specific procedure that must be followed, and so far, 78 full-time military chaplains have already been appointed to the Army.

Tereshchuk added that these chaplains have been given a military rank, signed a contract, and are currently serving in their full-time positions.

As RISU previously reported, after six weeks of training under a special program for training military chaplains, the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko, the National University of Kyiv, graduated 30 military chaplains from five religious organizations on April 1.
