The Pope was presented with a flag signed by Ukrainian children
This is reported by Vatican News.
Now the children are in a retreat center in Lipinki, in the Rzeszów Diocese in the east of Poland. The director of this center, Fr. Rafal Bray, handed the Holy Father a Ukrainian flag, which his wards signed with their names and playful requests.
"Since the beginning of the war, our center, which works at the parish of the Assumption of the Most Holy Virgin Mary in Lipinki, has constantly been accepting refugees from Ukraine. At the moment, there are 19 people there - mothers with children," Fr. Rafal Bray shared with L'Osservatore Romano.
According to Fr. Rafal, the children came up with such a gift for the Holy Father, which he then presented to the Pope.
The Holy Father expressed his support for the "network of solidarity", which covers parish communities on both sides of the border.
