"This is an important step towards protecting the rights of the Ukrainian community in Crimea, including through international mechanisms," Archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya), an OCU speaker, commented on the decision

"Finally, the Parliament of Ukraine adopted a resolution that gave consent to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to transfer the premises in Simferopol, which the occupiers are trying to take away, to the ownership of the Crimean Diocese of the OCU.

This is an important step towards protecting the rights of the Ukrainian community in Crimea, including through international mechanisms.
Thank you to everyone who voted "yes", the Archbishop said in his Facebook post.

The Crimean Diocese of the OCU, the only religious community on the peninsula, refused to "re-register" a religious community in accordance with the illegal requirements of the Russian Federation, which, in turn, was one of the reasons for the persecution of believers, clergy of the OCU and their families.
