The West is opposed to Russia because of its 'civilizational development,' says Patriarch Kirill - фото 1
According to the Moscow Patriarch, the West has turned against Russia because it represents "a very attractive alternative to civilizational development," according to reports from Russian media.

He stated that the concept of the "Russian world" is becoming a "spiritual enemy of Western civilization," while in the West, "sin is justified," as reported by NV.

The Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church emphasized that personal freedom poses a significant danger to the world. He argued that when individuals make their own choices, it leads to a loss of moral values and societal degradation.

This is not the first time that clergy have sought to control both personal freedom and freedom of speech in Russia. For instance, during a diocesan meeting of the Moscow Metropolis, a priest from Mozhaisk, Alexei Shlyapan, questioned the purpose of the Russian Orthodox Church, suggesting it was serving the interests of the state rather than promoting spirituality. In response, Kirill reprimanded him and inquired, "Are you from Western Ukraine?"
