On October 18, Ukraine celebrated the European Day Against Human Trafficking, which is designed to once again remind about the need to consolidate the efforts of state and local authorities, public and religious organizations in order to raise awareness of human trafficking.

The official website of the Ministry of Social Policy reported that this institution coordinates the activities of executive authorities, conducts information and educational actions on combating human trafficking in order to inform citizens of Ukraine about this problem, and also ensures the formation of state policy in the field of combating human trafficking.

The Ministry of Social Policy reported that in order to inform the public about the problem of human trafficking, established cooperation with representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organizations, within which, in early November 2021, the Ministry of Social Policy together with A21 Ukraine is planning to hold a seminar for representatives of various Churches and religious organizations to unite efforts to inform the population about measures that will help to avoid becoming a victim of human trafficking.

According to Deputy Minister for European Integration Olga Revuk, one of the initiators of the first such seminar, by consolidating efforts, state authorities, together with churches and religious organizations, will make a significant contribution to the development of common security. Our goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their age, gender, social status or place of residence, is fully aware and knows how to protect themselves and their relatives from human trafficking.

Currently, the Ministry of social policy, together with other central executive authorities, is developing a draft state target social program for combating human trafficking for the period up to 2025.
