Top Authorities of Ukraine Greet the Head of the UGCC on his Birthday
KYIV – On February 26, 2010, Patriarch Lubomyr, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, turned 77. As well as in previous years, with the exception of the celebration of his 75th birthday, the head of the UGCC spent this day working. However, what reminded of the fact that the day was a holiday were the numerous greetings from the bishops of the UGCC, priests, representatives of state and local authorities, and the intelligentsia.
According to the Information Department of the UGCC, greetings to the head of the UGCC were sent by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, head of the Supreme Council of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn, head of Security Service of Ukraine Valentine Nalyvaychenko, Minister of Economy of Ukraine Bohdan Danylyshyn, Minister of Health of Ukraine Vasyl Knyazevych, and other venerable persons.
“Let the Lord gives to you strength in hierarchal ministry for God’s glory, for the good of the faithful of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and our entire nation,” read the congratulatory telegrams.
