UGCC Bishop: EuroMaidan is God's project, called on to change our nation
Auxiliary Bishop of Lviv of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) Venedykt Aleksiychuk considers the EuroMaidan one of the stages of development of the Ukraine civilization and calls it God's project, which is called on to change our nation. He said this in an interview with Katolytskyi Ohliadach.
“The Maidan is not a goal, but a means through which I am sure God changes our people. I see the Lord's hand, which is acting in everything,” said the bishop .
According to him, the processes of one of the stages of the development of the civilization of our country are currently under way.
“The more I see that politicians and public figures do not fully know how the process will look further, how to manage it, have no clear plans for what to do, the more convinced I am that it is God's project, I would even say ‘God’s business.’ A project of God will never collapse. The Lord began this project with our loving Ukraine twenty years ago, and now it's making sure that it matures as a country,” he said.
“I am deeply convinced that Ukraine has a mission in Europe and the world. I cannot say that only our people have a ‘super-mission’ because every nation has their calling in this world. But I am sure that with the processes currently under way in Ukraine, Ukraine has a specific mission for all of its neighbors, for both western and eastern ones. God wants to change something in our native country and in the world,” said the auxiliary Bishop of Lviv of UGCC.
