UGCC Faithful in Lithuania Pray for Ukraine during Summit in Vilnius
The Ukrainian Greek Catholic parish of the Holy Trinity in Vilnius on November 28, the day of the EU-Ukraine summit, will hold a special prayer for Ukraine, said Fr. Vinkentiy Yanitsky, superior of the Vilnius Basilian Monastery.
The Liturgy will begin in the Holy Trinity Church at 8:00 a.m. At 10:00 there will be a procession to the icon of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn, where at 10:30 a.m. a Prayer to the Virgin Mary for Ukraine will begin.
Also, at 12:00 on the main street of Vilnius a cultural program involving Ukrainian art collectives from Lithuania, Latvia, and famous artists from Ukraine will begin.
The superior of the Basilian monastery of Vilnius invites all interested parties to participate in a joint prayer.
In recent days the hierarch of the UGCC called on Ukrainians not to fear European integration and to above all have trust in God. He described the events that will take place in late November as “a chance given to us by God,” the Information Department of the UGCC reports.
