Patriarch Sviatoslav of the UGCC personally and on behalf of the Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church congratulated Archbishop and Metropolitan Borys Gudzyak of Philadelphia on the 10th anniversary of his episcopal consecration.

This is reported by UGCC Information Department.

"Exactly ten years ago, in the arch-Cathedral of St. George in Lviv, in concelebration with Metropolitan Igor Voznyak of Lviv and Apostolic Exarch in Great Britain Vladyka Glib Lonchyna, we granted you episcopal consecration. The time of your service to the faithful of our church in France is marked by many achievements for the glory of God and the development and formation of our church in this field. Therefore, on June 2, 2019, in the city of Philadelphia, we solemnly proclaimed and enthroned you as the Metropolitan of our Philadelphia Metropolia in the United States. Since then and to this day, you have served our faithful from heart to heart, who were scattered by fate on the vast edges of the United States. For the priests and laity of our church, you have become a true spiritual father who cares for them and makes every effort to ensure that God's word expands and bears a hundredfold fruit,“ the congratulatory letter reads.

"We highly appreciate your concern for the Ukrainian Catholic University, of which you are still president. Your work and your contribution are difficult to appreciate, they are priceless. We also express our gratitude to you for your long-term participation in the Permanent Synod of various members, which shows the great trust in you on the part of our authorities," the head of the UGCC stressed.

Separately, the patriarchal charter notes the active service of Metropolitan Borys for the needs of the Patriarchal Curia. The Department of External Relations, which the bishop heads, is an excellent tool for representing our church outside the Mother Church in Ukraine.

"Continue to be for our people and all those among whom you live a clear lamp of God's truth and a good shepherd of Christ's flock. We ask for God's abundant blessing for you," Patriarch Sviatoslav said.
