Ukraine pays tribute to Heavenly Hundred’s heroes with prayer services and processions
On this day, 6 years ago, the most tragic stage of the Revolution of Dignity began in Ukraine. In the period from February 18-20, 2014, about a hundred people died in the center of Kyiv, dozens were missing, more than a thousand were injured, and hundreds were arrested antortured.
Today a prayer service hold near the ecumenical Church of Archangel Michael and the Ukrainian New Martyrs of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on the Avenue of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
On February 18-21, at the Independence Square and the Avenue of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, an exhibition entitled Rays of Dignity will be presented.
On February 18th, along the fence of the construction site on the Avenue of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, a street exhibition will be arranged at the site of the construction of the Memorial to Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and Museum of the Revolution of Dignity.
A multimedia photo exhibition about the Revolution of Dignity will be presented in the foyer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
At 19:00 in St. Michael's Cathedral, which became a hospital and place of rescue for many Maidan participants during the 2014 events, a prayer service will be held. The memorial procession in honor of Heroes of the Maidan will begin at 19: 30.
Participants with illuminated candles will follow the route from the streets of Triokhsvyatytelska, Hrushevskoho, Avenue of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, to the Memorial Complex of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, where the ceremony of laying of flowers and lighting candles will take place.
