Ukrainian Christians to Pray for 24,000 Orphans In Need of Families
The third “Ukrainian Day of Prayer for Orphans” will be held on November 10. On this day, Christians in Ukraine will ask God to save all orphans, to protect and bless their happy future. On this occasion the president of the Alliance for Ukraine without Orphans Roman Korniyko appealed to Ukrainians with a request to join this prayer with their family, friends, and acquaintances.
“Almost every day I come across the problems of orphans. Their suffering fills my heart with unspeakable pain. With what envy they look at children living in loving homes. They dream of having fathers and mothers, and every night have dreams of a happy family. These disadvantaged children are ready to give everything just to feel the warmth of family comfort. After all, no orphanage, even equipped with modern appliances, furniture, or toys, will ever replace caring parents.
“Today, 24,000 Ukrainian orphans are in need of families, and about 40,000 children are brought up in orphanages without official status, left orphans with living parents. And hundreds of thousands of children suffer from abuse and violence. And sometimes it seems that the problem of orphans in this country is too great. But faith and God's promises help to overcome despair. And when I see the happy eyes of a child whose life was changed for the better when he or she got a new loving family, I understand that the Lord Himself rejoices,” said Korniyko .
