Ukrainian company Skeiron digitized the caves of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, allowing the underground spaces to be viewed online.

This was announced on the Skeiron Facebook page, as reported by NV.

"We have digitized another object of Ukrainian millennial history, the caves of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. An object that could only be seen from the inside now has a recorded form and volume in 3D," the company noted.

The Lavra has UNESCO World Heritage status and is considered one of Ukraine's most important historical sites. Its history dates back to the 11th century when Antoniy Pechersky single-handedly dug a cave on the Dnieper hill and settled in it.

Later, other Christians joined him. Thus, underground labyrinths were developed, and the Near and Far Caves were formed, located at depths ranging from five to 20 meters, with a total length of about 900 meters.

"Our team digitized the Near and Far Caves, allowing the reserve to obtain new data and deepen understanding of their structure. This is important for the further preservation of the Lavra caves, as well as for scientific research," Skeiron added.

The company also produced a short film about the caves of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
