Ukrainian religious scholars to visit India to study the sacred space of Vaishnavism

On January 21 - February 11, 2017, the IV International scientific and fact-finding trip to India titled “The sacred space of Vaishnavism” will be held involving the students, teachers and researchers of Ukraine.

On January 21 - February 11, 2017, the IV International scientific and fact-finding trip to India titled “The sacred space of Vaishnavism” will be held involving the students, teachers and researchers of Ukraine.

 

The event is held by the International Religious School “The tradition of Vaishnavism across the centuries,” the Department of Philosophy and humanities of the philosophical faculty of Odessa National University named after Mechnikov, Department of Honchar Philosophy National University of Dnipropetrovsk.

 

The purpose of the trip is to promote the creation of joint communication field between the researchers of Vaishnavism and help gain deeper knowledge of this ancient tradition, including its doctrine, practice, history and current trends. The program includes lectures, workshops, quizzes, tours and meetings with adherents of Vaishnavism.

Visiting museums and monuments. Meeting the dawn of the sun by the ocean and a boat trip along the Ganges River. The event will cover several Indian cities so that participants may a wider picture of Vaishnavism and its current state in the world. In particular, it is planned to visit such famous sacred places as Mayapur - the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Vrindavan - the place of birth and games of Shri Krishna, Dzhahanatha Puri, Bhuvaneshvar, Delhi, Jaipur, Calcutta, UNIAN reports.
