UOC-Kyivan Patriarchate Holds Roundtable on Activity of Patriarch Mstyslav (Skrypnyk) of UAOC
A roundtable “The First Ukrainian Orthodox Patriarch (1898-1993)” was held in the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate to mark the 20th anniversary of death of Patriarch Mstyslav (Skrypnyk) of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, the web ite of UOC-KP reoported.
In his opening remarks, the advisor of the head of the National Expert Committee of Ukraine on Protection of Public Morality, V. Korneliuk, passed greetings from the head of the Committee, Vasyl Kostytskyi.
The main report was made by Professor Dmytro Stepovyk who spoke about the life of the patriarch, incorporating his own recollections.
Protopriest Mykhail Yosyfchuk analyzed the negative attitude of Patriarch Mstyslav to non-canonical consecrations in the UAOC in 1921.
