UOC-MP Head Received Newly Appointed Ambassador of Russian Federation
KYIV — On January 26, 2010, Metropolitan Volodymyr, the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Ukraine Mykhailo Zurabov at his residence in the Kyiv Cave Monastery, as reported by the web site of the UOC-MP.
The previous day, Zurabov delivered the copies of credentials to Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
In the course of the meeting with the primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-MP, the newly-appointed ambassador of the Russian Federation passed him greetings from President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
During the conversation a number of issues regarding Russian-Ukrainian relations were discussed, as well as the role and place of the church in modern civilization.
Taking part in the meeting was also the secretary for the primate of the UOC Bishop Aleksander of Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi.
