UOC-MP monastery is being evicted from Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
This is stated in the warning notice published on the website of the monastery of the UOC-MP, reports LB ua.
The document was received from the acting general director of the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" Oleksandr Rudnyk.
As stated in the text of the warning notice, the interdepartmental working group found that the monastery violated the terms of the agreement on the use of state property.
"Taking into account the conclusions of the interdepartmental working group and the letter of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine dated 09.03.2023 No. 06/34/2234-23, based on clause 8.1. of the Agreement, the Reserve warns about the termination of the Agreement as of March 29, 2023," the document says.
By this day, the monastery of the UOC-MP must vacate the buildings and facilities listed on the balance sheet of the Reserve located at 11 Lavrska street, and 15 Lavrska street.
By March 14, the monastery must also provide a list of its representatives (2-3 people), who will be included in the commission for the acceptance and transfer of state property.
The UOC-MP stated that the letter from the National Reserve "does not specify the legal grounds for such actions."
"As for the work of the group mentioned in the letter, the content of its conclusions was not reported anywhere, but they were obviously biased and in gross violation of legal norms," the message on the UOC's Facebook page says.
The religious organization called the eviction of their monastery "a whim of officials from the Ministry of Culture", and the letter itself - an "ultimatum".
Earlier, the Ministry of Justice had to check the lease agreement for the UOC-MP property of the lower Lavra.
