Vyacheslav Kyrylenko is in charge of culture and religion in the new government
Vyacheslav Kyrylenko has been appointed Vice-Prime Minister – Minister of Culture of Ukraine. He will coordinate all humanitarian activities of the Government in this office.
His candidacy was supported by the Parliament on December 2, 2014 simultaneously with the approval of the new Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, headed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, as reported by the Institute for Religious Freedom.
In the previous parliament Vyacheslav Kyrylenko led the Committee on Culture and Spirituality, and in 2005-2006 he held the position of Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for Humanitarian Affairs. He was elected from party lists of the "People’s Front" (8th in the list) to the Parliament of new convocation.
In 1993 Vyacheslav Kyrylenko graduated from the Philosophy Department of Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University, in 1996 he completed his postgraduate studies, and in 1997 he obtainedhis PhD degree.
The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine is a specially authorized central executive authority in religion’s domain.
Recently, famous religious scientist Andiy Yurash has been appointed new Chair of the Department for Religions and Nationalities.
