'You have our wholehearted support': Christian leaders from the U.S. arrive in Kyiv
This was announced during a press conference held at Ukrinform.
The mission of U.S. Christian leaders in Ukraine is part of a team organized by President Donald Trump, aimed at promoting spiritual diplomacy.
"These spiritual leaders want to support us and express gratitude for the pivotal role that faith in God plays for Ukrainians. They aim to show, using the example of the U.S., how government authorities at the highest level can work alongside spiritual leaders, while also emphasizing biblical principles of governance," said Roman Chukhvitsky, president and founder of the Global Alliance for Ukraine (GA4UA) Foundation.
Dr. Jim Garlow, the head of the mission and founder and CEO of Well Versed, believes that the U.S. should play a more active role in Ukraine's fight against Russian aggression. After witnessing the situation in Ukraine, he promises to share his experiences with American officials.
"The circumstances of the war are trying to undermine the Ukrainian spirit. We are rooting for you, telling Americans about Ukraine, and supporting you wholeheartedly. We must stop the war here and now; otherwise, this evil will continue to spread to other countries. My message to political leaders will focus on conscience and morality, urging them to engage in this struggle. We Americans are just like Ukrainians, and we must stand together to defend this country," Garlow emphasized.
Gary Marx, president of Madison Strategies LLC and The Concord Fund, noted that this is his fourth visit to Ukraine, and he continues to be inspired by the resilience and spirit of the Ukrainian people. He discusses Russian crimes in Ukraine on his podcast to raise awareness in America.
"Every time I travel here, I celebrate the Ukrainian spirit. I share the realities and truths on my podcast to educate the American audience. I speak about the persecution of priests by the Russian aggressor and the kidnapping of children, whose identities the Russians are trying to erase. This is a harrowing subject. We will visit the center for the return of children in Ukraine and inform Americans about it," Marx shared.
Chad Connelly, founder and CEO of Faith Wins, expressed admiration for the resilience of Ukrainians in their fight for freedom.
"We in America are profoundly impressed by your determination to protect freedom and your love for your country. It is an honor to be in Ukraine. We are here on a spiritual diplomatic mission, and we deeply respect how you stand firm in defense of freedom," Connelly emphasized.
The delegation plans to meet with representatives of state authorities, religious organizations, and community leaders.
They also intend to visit the combat zone and cities like Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel. Additionally, the delegation will participate in a roundtable discussion with Ukrainian spiritual leaders on the "Principles of Interaction between the State and the Church" and hold a joint prayer for a ceasefire, victory, and lasting peace.
