The politician does not want to impose on them such a function, but he believes it might make the process more peaceful.

Lutsenko approved the public activity of the Ukrainian religious leaders. He recently met with Patriarch Filaret and thanked him for the fact that St. Michael’s monastery became a refuge for members of the EuroMaidan.

He also spoke with former head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Archbishop Lubomyr Husar and thanked him for his spiritual support.

According to Lutsenko, the church needs to organize places of worship on the EuroMaidan. He also wants to talk with church leaders about this.

The politician pointed out the need for interfaith consolidation in the social and political crisis that has developed in Ukraine. “In this situation, when it comes to violence and possible provocation, all the churches must work together,” said Yuriy Lutsenko.

During the press conference, the politician said that since Viktor Yanukovych has left the country, it is possible that the Maidan can be suppressed. Opposition leaders have information that the next provocation is being prepared in order to have an excuse to use force.
