The synod of Catholic bishops, which discussed the theme “the figure of the bishop,” officially closed with a Mass last Saturday.

Cardinal Jan P. Schotte, secretary-general of the Synod of Bishops, published the list of names of the 15 members of the postsynodal council. Twelve were chosen by the synod fathers and three were appointed by John Paul II. The Holy Father named Cardinal Husar, a Polish and a Mexican archbishop.
