Ambassador to the Holy See and priests of UGCC in Italy discuss support for Ukrainian communities - фото 1
Andrii Yurash, Ukraine's Ambassador to the Holy See and the Sovereign Order of Malta, met with representatives from the Apostolic Exarchate for Ukrainian Catholics in Italy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

This was reported on Facebook by the Embassy of Ukraine to the Holy See.

The meeting was attended by the deans of the Roman and Florentine-Bolognese deaneries: Fr. Vasyl Hushuvatyy, the pastor of the personal parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Perugia, and Fr. Mykhailo Boiko, the administrator of the parish of St. Michael in Bologna. Also present was Fr. Taras Maksymiv, the financial administrator of the Roman deanery and pastor of the communities in Gubbio and Foligno.

During the meeting, participants addressed current issues affecting Ukrainian communities in Italy. They emphasized the Church's crucial role in preserving the spiritual, cultural, and national identity of Ukrainians living abroad. Additionally, the importance of close cooperation between diplomatic institutions and pastors in serving the Ukrainian community was highlighted.
