Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher to visit the Church of St. Nicholas in Kyiv
According to the Catholic Media Center, within the framework of the official visit of Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations of the Holy See with the States (Vatican foreign minister) to Ukraine, on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 18:00 he is to visit the Church of St. Nicholas in Kyiv, located at 75 Vasylkivska street.
On this day, he will take part in the solemn installation of the statue of St. Michael the Archangel, which Pope Francis has consecrated specifically for the parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Kyiv, due to the transfer of the church for permanent use.
This is the second visit of a high-ranking representative of the Apostolic capital to the Church of St. Nicholas recently.
On the eve of Easter, April 14, 2022, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski visited this place.
The Roman Catholic Church notes that this attention to this Kyivan temple by the highest authorities of the church shows its concern for the Catholic faithful of Ukraine, as well as the hope that the Ukrainian authorities will eventually fulfill their promise and soon return the church to the religious community.
