Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh to the faithful of the UGCC in Germany and Scandinavia: I entrust you all to the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh, addressed a greeting letter to the clergy and the faithful of the Apostolic Exarchate in Germany and the Scandinavian countries. First of all, the bishop noted that in these moments of receiving the news from the Vatican, his soul is filled with trust in God. “From the first moment of my appointment, I raise my eyes to the Lord in prayer for our Exarchate, and to you all today I seek to address my first words of heartfelt greetings and sincere love,” said the bishop.
Then His Eminence Bishop Bohdan expressed his gratitude to the flock of the Apostolic Exarchate: “Thank God for each and every one of you. First of all, I would like to thank our esteemed Exarch, His Eminence Bishop Petro Kryk, for leading our Exarchate with great zeal and dedication for many years, and now, as Apostolic Administrator, he will help us go through this transition period. Thank you to the pastoral fathers, the nuns, and all of you, my beloved faithful in Christ, because by the will of God I will create with you from now on the God’s family of our Exarchate in Germany and Scandinavia.”
Afterwards, the bishop called for mutual communication by all possible means: “Until I settle all the necessary formalities related to moving to the seat in Munich, I will be grateful for the opportunity, with the help of modern means of communication, to meet with the priests, and with great joy and impatience I look forward to a personal meeting with all of you.”
“Asking you for prayers for me and for my new ministry, which His Holiness Pope Francis and Father and Head of our Church His Beatitude Sviatoslav together with the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC entrust to me through this appointment, I place all of you under the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary and pray for you to the Lord,” concluded His Eminence Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh, Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC.
