Christians, Jews and Muslims to meet in Kharkiv to search for peace
September 16, 2015, an interreligious bar-camp titled “Ways to achieve peace in the religious experience and Ukrainian context” will be held at St. Demetrius Catechetical and Pastoral Center (Poltavskyy shlyakh, 44) in Kharkiv.
Organizers: UGCC Commission for Promoting Christian Unity and Patriarch Mstyslav Collegium.
Speakers: Olexandr Dobroyer, Director of the European Institute of Social Communication (Odessa), expert on Judaism; Roman Nazarenko, Tilburg University (Netherlands), expert on Islam.
The organizers are inviting to general debate on historical ways of attaining peace in the world and the possibility to implement this experience in the current Ukrainian context.
The discussion will be dedicated to finding ways of peaceful life in Ukraine, establishing good relations with other religions and understanding of people with different views –both believers and nonbelievers. This was reported by the website of the UAOC Kharkiv-Poltava Eparchy.
