“The conservation has been completed. Last night, we received 26 lorries of a special soil… In total, 460 lorries of it were used,” said the Director of Direction of Restoration-Renewal Works public utility company, Hennadii Hera.

According to him, the excavation site of the first Rus stone church will remain fenced.

“I have not received any instructions so far to remove the fence. It is planned to improve the site temporarily in some way, I still do not know in what way. Most probably, in spring, appropriate services will be instructed to carry out the improvement of the territory.”

As for the construction works to preserve the foundations of the church, according to Mr. Hera, they will become possible only upon development of the general concept, the architectural project of museumification of the foundation.

On 23 December, the temporary conservation of the foundation of the Tithe Church began. The decision to do so was passed by the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Oleksandr Popov on 24 December.

To fill the foundation with sand for the time being was the only possibility to preserve it.
