In Ukraine, during the ten months of the war, the number of citizens who consider themselves parishioners of the churches of the Moscow Patriarchate has significantly decreased. These findings are based on the results of the sociological monitoring "Ukrainian Society", conducted at the end of last year by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology at the request of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

In particular, when asked, "Which Orthodox Church do you affiliate yourself with?" only 6.6% of respondents answered, “With the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, but I do not consider myself a member of the MP”, whereas 21.9% of citizens considered themselves MP parishioners before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation during the last survey (November 2021).

At that, only 1.3% of respondents clearly indicated that they are parishioners of the UOC-MP.

While the number of citizens who consider themselves members of the OCU has increased from 36.1% to 45% in almost a year.

The study was conducted on December 19-25, 2022, it is representative, and the sociological error is no more than 2.5%. More than 2 thousand respondents were interviewed.
