Vast majority of Ukrainians support severing ties between UOC-MP and ROC, survey reveals - фото 1
80% of Ukrainians support breaking ties between the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate and the Russian Orthodox Church. Additionally, 62% of those surveyed support a law that would prohibit the activities of religious organizations associated with Russia, the aggressor state.

According to a survey conducted by the sociological group “Rating,” 68% of Ukrainians consider the level of religious freedom in Ukraine to be high, while 27% view it as low. This information was reported by LB.

The majority of respondents (88%) report that they have not experienced oppression based on religious beliefs, either personally or in relation to their loved ones.

Regarding the primary language of worship in Ukraine, 70% of respondents believe it should be Ukrainian, while 24% think it should be the language traditionally associated with their denomination.

When it comes to diversity in beliefs, 50% of respondents feel it is better for society to have different beliefs, whereas 42% believe it is preferable for everyone to share the same beliefs.

Half of the respondents (50%) think that the Church in Ukraine should be separate from the state, while 45% support the opposite view.

A significant majority of respondents (79%) agree that the state should regulate religious organizations if they pose a threat to Ukraine.

Sixty percent of respondents view the formation of a single Local Church positively, while about one-third express indifference toward this development.

An overwhelming 80% of respondents support the idea of severing ties between the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Russian Orthodox Church due to Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Additionally, 62% of respondents support a law that would ban the activities of religious organizations linked to Russia, the aggressor state. Moreover, 57% support banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, led by Metropolitan Onufriy, due to its connections with the Russian Orthodox Church. Furthermore, 67% of respondents support imposing sanctions on Metropolitan Onufriy for his ties with the Russian Orthodox Church.

Lastly, 54% of respondents support the idea of uniting the Orthodox churches — the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church — into a single Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Meanwhile, 45% favor uniting all Orthodox churches, specifically including the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, into one unified Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
