Gospel and Acts of the Apostles for visually impaired to be presented in Kyiv
The presentation will take place in the premises of the Cathedral of the resurrection of Christ (Kyiv, Mykislko-Slobidska, 5 (Levoberezhna Metro Station) as part of the celebration of catechism day in the Kyiv Metropolia of the UGCC.
"The new edition is printed in the Republican House of sound recording and printing and is a real gift for the blind because there are few such publications in Ukraine. A similar publication (Gospel) in Ukrainian was carried out back in the 90s of the last century by the Society "Light in the East", and most of its circulation mostly got into libraries. The Holy Scriptures should become the basis of life, the reference book and the daily book of every Christian. Therefore, our church, which understands this and listens sensitively to the needs of each of its faithful, supported the publication of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and Acts of the Apostles in relief and dotted Braille. By taking care of the accessibility of the Word of God for people with special needs, the Church shows that Christ addresses everyone, regardless of their characteristics or physical limitations," the message of the UGCC Catechetical Commission reads.
After the presentation, at the end of the celebration of catechism day in the Archdiocese of Kyiv, a prayer reading of the Holy Scriptures (Lectio Divina) will be held, to which everyone is invited to join.
