A real genocide is being committed in Mariupol. People die not only from enemy weapons, but also from hatred. Hundreds of people are starving to death not only in the city itself, but in its surroundings s well. The head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, said this in his everyday address to military on the 26th day of the Russian war against Ukraine.

The Patriarch of the UGCC thanked God we survived this night. The Lord God allowed us to see the light of day. But this night, blood flowed again in Ukraine, and bomb attacks shook our cities and villages. Again, screams, howls and cries sound in the Ukrainian land all the way to heaven, reaching the ears of God. This is reported by the UGCC Information Department.

"Real crimes against humanity are being committed in the temporarily occupied territories," the Primate states with pain. We receive daily news about humanitarian disasters, murders, looting, and rapes. But even there, in the south of Ukraine, civilians are protesting against the occupation authorities, people are protesting against rapists and murderers. People show that Kherson and other cities under occupation are still part of Ukraine. They want to live in a Ukrainian independent free state."

His Beatitude Sviatoslav asks us all to pray, especially for the people being forcibly taken to Russia. We again have the facts of forced deportation of Ukrainian citizens to a foreign state, what fate awaits them there, none of us knows, because they do not decide for themselves what they should do.

He thanked all those called rescuers in Ukraine for their dedicated work. "These are our firefighters and emergency services of various levels. This is what you need to have courage and faith in the ministry that you do if the infrastructure of our cities and villages is bombed and destroyed, and these tireless heroes tirelessly and stubbornly restore it every day," he said.

According to the Head of the UGCC, the whole world, the entire global community must be like those rescuers who, amid war, regain the space of life, build peace, and save people's lives in Modern Ukraine, which is struggling.
